Euro rates hit 1.19

The strong pound has seen Euro rates are hitting the 1.18/1.19 mark at the moment.

This means that changing £750 into Euros wpuld get you around €30 more now for your money than it would have a couple of weeks ago.

The coming days and weeks leading to the general election on June 8th will definitely see some movement for sure and we will keep an eye on things and always help you find the best rate available both online and on the high street.

We carried out a price check today of the rates on offer in 5 locations for US Dollars and Euros. It confirmed what we repeat time and time again; you should always compare rates and should always plan ahead and not buy at the last minute.

A number of the companies we list allow you to reserve and collect within an hour anyway, so you will get the great online rate whilst the convenience of collecting almost immediately on your high street.

Euro rate below €1.10

The Euro rate dipped to a new low yesterday, with all currency providers offering rates below €1.10/£1, this is the first time it has done this since 2010.

The collapse in the pound is bound to lead to higher prices for goods that are imported to the UK and also make holidays more expensive for British holiday makers.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on rates and see what happens over the coming weeks and months.

Euro in freefall

Since Theresa May announced the dates in her Brexit plan the pound started to drop, she said “it is not going to be plain sailing” and that sent shock waves. Everyone knew it but when someone such as the prime minister actually says it then markets start shifting.

The chart above says it all – Euro rate over the last 18 months.  We’ll be gathering more information together to show in the next few days, but one thing is for certain, now is an even more important time to compare Euro rates before you buy.

Currency of France – Euro

The currency of France is the Euro (prior to the introduction of the Euro they used the French Franc).  Its currency code is EUR and the currency symbol is €.  It is used in a number of currencies in Europe.  There are 100 cents in a Euro.

The currency is made up of coins and banknotes as follows:

Frequently used coins: €1, €2, 5cent, 10cent, 20cent, 50cent

Frequently used banknotes: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100

Euro rate increase this week

The Euro rate has increase over the last week by just under 1%.

The rate last Thursday was 1.3760 and today its at 1.3891.  This means that £750 will get you an extra €9.83.  We’re seeing an upward trend at the moment but the Euro is dependant on so many things so we’ll be keeping a close eye on it.

Euro rate summary – March 2015

It’s been a funny month for the Euro.  Lots of news affecting its rate and a lot of talk about this year being the best time ever for the UK/Euro exchange rate.
The rate is certainly a lot better than last year and its looking promising for those heading on holiday to Europe this year as costs will be lower and in turn holiday companies will be more likely to extend offers and deals to UK holidaymakers.
As of this morning the Euro is currently around 0.5% higher than it was at the start of Marcg with todays best Euro rate at 1.361. This converts to you getting around €7 more Euros for every £750 you exchange.
The peak was 1.3927 on 25th March.

The Bavarian Strong Beer Festival

The Bavarian Strong Beer Festival is in in fifth year and this year will take place between February 20th – March 28th, 2015.

Its a great event and attracts visitors from all over Europe.  With the Euro at a fantastic rate at the moment and some great deals on flights and teh Eurostar, why not pop over for the weekend and sample the beer and what Munich has to offer?

January 2015 Euro Rate Roundup

It’s been a funny month for the Euro.  Lots of news affecting its rate and a lot of talk about this year being the best time ever for the UK/Euro exchange rate.
The rate is certainly a lot better than last year and its looking promising for those heading on holiday to Europe this year as costs will be lower and in turn holiday companies will be more likely to extend offers and deals to UK holidaymakers.
As of this morning the Euro is currently around 3% higher than it was at the start of January with todays best Euro rate at 1.310. This converts to you getting around €39 more Euros for every £1000 you exchange.
The peak was 1.3247 on 25th January.
